Our Story

Hi! We are Justin and Julia (AKA Julie, I go by both which confuses everyone). Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about us.

Our story together began back in 2009 when Julie came home from college and went out with some friends for the evening. It just so happens Justin and his friends had the same plans for the evening. Now, we both knew of each other prior to this due to our large number of mutual friends, but we had never actually crossed paths. By the end of the first night Julie declared to her friends...

Meet Justin

Justin is one of the hardest working people I know. As a farmer, his hours can be long and challenging. However, he still makes time for family, even during the busiest time of year. In the buddy seat of his tractor, you never know who you will find riding with him. It could be our son, Ethan, one of Justin’s nephews, or just a kid from the neighborhood. Kids tend to really like Justin, and he loves being around them just the same.

When it comes to Legos, Justin is a self-proclaimed master. He can build any...

Meet Julie

Julie is an incredibly caring woman. That’s probably why she excels so much in her career as a nurse! She loves working at the local hospital, where she can give back and help so many people in our community. Her job also affords her a lot of flexibility, and she’s able to work shifts that fit our family’s needs.

Ethan and I can both agree that Julie is a FANTASTIC cook, but her real specialty is baking. I would vote for her Snickerdoodles as the best around, but it’s her chocolate chip...

Big Brother

Within a week of telling Ethan that we were planning to adopt, he come home with a family drawing that included a little heart with a question mark. He proceeded to explain that the heart was for his baby brother or sister. So, to say that Ethan is excited about being a big brother would be an understatement.

Ethan can be a typical 7-year-old wild little man one minute, and the found cuddled up with us on the couch the next. He loves to make people laugh and be goofy with silly faces, funny jokes and hilarious dances....

Our Home

Our home was built on the family farm that has been in Julie’s family for over 100 years. We recently finished a huge playroom upstairs for kids to spread out toys and play! Our favorite part of our house is our back porch. We love to eat supper on warm evenings out there. From our rockers on the back porch, we can watch Ethan and his friends play on the playset or sandbox, as well as admire the wildlife in the field behind our house. (Wow, that makes us sound old!!)

We live on a dead-end road, with very little traffic. It makes for some great bike riding...

Our Seasons

Spring: We love getting outside again, both farming and to play. We work together to plant a garden that we continue to increase and experiment with. (Does anyone know why our green peppers never grow?) Easter is filled with gatherings on both sides, and a couple of intense Easter egg hunts. Spring is also the kickoff to one of Julie’s favorite seasons: Garage Sale Season! She loves to find a good deal!

Summer: Hot summer days call for a trip to one of the Grandparents pools, or maybe a water balloon fight with the neighbors. Come evening, we will get...

Our Family

Our family can not wait to welcome another baby. Julie’s mom lives to be a Grammy, and with her living so close, she is always around to lend a hand. Justin’s parents live 20 minutes away, and they love to spoil their grandkids! With all the Grandparents being retired, they will have plenty of time to love and cuddle on the new little one.

Julie’s sister and her family only live an hour away. They meet us at Grammy’s house for fun play dates a couple times a month. We meet up regularly for fun...

Closing

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us share our story with you. We hope that by reading our profile you were able to feel the abundance of love we have to give. Bringing another child into our lives would be absolutely wonderful.

We will respect your wishes in whatever amount of involvement you feel comfortable with. No matter what, you will always be talked about in the highest regard for the bravery you displaced when faced with such difficult decisions. This child will always know who they are and...
